Description
Witness on the All Party Parliamentary Group on Autism - Criminal Justice Inquiry.2019 marked the 10th anniversary of the Autism Act and as part of this significant milestone the All Party Parliamentary Group on Autism (APPGA) undertook a parliamentary inquiry into the Act to look at the progress made over the last decade. It also explored how services and support can be further improved for autistic people and their families going forward.
The APPGA held six individual evidence sessions in Parliament throughout March to May 2019, taking a select committee format. Panellists posed questions to a range of witnesses, including sector experts and professionals. The evidence acquired through this inquiry fed into a report that launched in September 2019 and recommendations developed then fed into the Government’s review of the autism strategy.
