Keynote presentation delivered at the 1st I-CLARITY (International Conference of English Language Research Insight, Teaching and Literary), hosted by the English Language Teaching Program, Tarbiyah Faculty, IAIN Madura, Indonesia.

The presentation examined the emerging use of artificial intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, in language assessment. It considered the opportunities presented by generative AI for supporting assessment and feedback, alongside challenges and implications associated with integrating AI into language assessment practices.

The keynote formed part of an international conference focused on revitalising English language teaching in the digital era through multimodal approaches, bringing together participants and speakers from a range of international educational contexts.
